Kathryn Smith, vocals
Kathryn had the pleasure of meeting Jamie & Scott in a dodgy bar somewhere in Bournemouth, and joined Secret Shine on the eve of recording of Loveblind. Prior to this Kathryn’s singing career had been restricted to singing in the car. Kathryn also currently sings with the strange but true The Great Admirers. Musical taste – Placebo, Star Sailor, Keane, Foo Fighters, Girls Aloud, and that’s all she’ll (proudly) admit for now. Oh, I also liked Secret Shine, before joining them, so that’s worked out rather well.

More recently fallen under the spell of Belle and Sebastian (having religiousy collected most of their releases) amongst many others. Jamie Gingell, bass and vocals
Jamie is bassist, vocalist and founder member of Secret Shine. Started the band with Scott in 1991 and has either played or sung (and co-written) on all of Secret Shine’s material. His love for distortion in music found a natural home with in the band which he’s keen to see evolve in the future. He currently produces the band’s sound in the studio, which suits his experimental side nicely. He previously played with Scott in Dreamscape, Junkie (briefly), and Lebowski (who!!?).

Dean joined Secret Shine just after the release of After Years. Also played guitar, sang and wrote most of the songs for Junkie with Scott and Tim. I also hate queuing up in the post office and my biggest fear is dying.
