Secret Shine’s first gig of 2007 will be at the Bristol Louisiana on Thursday June 7th. It will be the first chance we’ll have to play some of our new album tracks live as well as lots of old stuff. Also on the bill are fellow ‘Razorblade Records’ label mates, The Great Admirers (www.myspace.com/thegreatadmirers) and Razorblade new boy Vincent Callan (www.myspace.com/vincentcallan).
The Great Admirers, fronted by the talanted and eccentric Pat Reid, occasionally feature Shinees Scott and Kathryn and recently released the ‘Keynsham EP’ to enthusiastic reviews. The record was also engineered and produced by Jamie. And on that subject, Jamie is currently producing Vincent Callan’s debut album ‘Stara Nova’ to be released in early May.
In the meantime, on Sunday 11th March Vincent plays Joe Publics in Bristol while The Great Admirers play the Bristol Louisiana on the same night. Make a night of it and watch them both!
Secret Shine have just been interviewed by New York’s Big Takeover magazine. Look out for the April/May issue for our thoughts on our music, being on Sarah Records and everything that’s happened over the last few years.
We have loads of songs demoed for the new album and are going back into the rehearsal room at the end of March to whip them into shape. We’ll decide on 10 tracks and start recording in the summer with a view to an early autumn release.
Secret Shine will be touring the States again in early November and would love to travel further than just the East Coast. If you know a decent small venue who would put us on and you know someone who can put us up for one night then please send us details soon.
