Secret Shine June 7th

Sun 22 Apr '07 by Scott

We’re playing our first gig of the year at the Bristol Louisiana on Thursday June 7th. We will be playing songs from our new album.

The gig at the Louisiana will also be the low key official launch of our communal record label ‘Razorblade’. We will be joined by fellow ‘Razorblade’ artistes ‘The Great Admirers’ and ‘Vincent Callan’.

The Great Admirers recently released their ‘Keynsham EP’ record on Razorblade to rave local press reviews. The band are fronted by eccentric singer and poet Pat Reid and feature different line-ups every time they play. This includes various members of Secret Shine from time to time. The Great Admirers will play lots of their excellent new material along with tracks from The Keynsham EP and who knows who their line-up will feature this time! Visit myspace.com/thegreatadmirers for more info.

Vincent Callan is a Liverpool-born singer-songwriter who moved to Bristol last year. He has formerly played in Liverpool’s ‘The Most Terrifying Thing’ and ‘The Kesey Experiment’. For his new album ‘Stara Nova’ soon to be released on Razorblade, Vincent has gone solo and has produced a beautifully-crafted, tortured piece of work. He will be joined by his former Kesey counterpart Karen Wynne on stage at the Loui. This will be the first major airing of ‘Star Nova’ and you really should be there to see it. As a footnote, the album was engineered and produced by Secret Shine’s Jamie Gingell and features Kathryn and Scott on vocals and guitar respectively.

Secret Shine, The Great Admirers and Vincent Callan play the Bristol Louisiana on Thursday June 7th. Entry is £5 in advance £5.50 on the door. Doors open at 8. First band on at 8.15.
