Secret Shine DJ set

Sun 27 Jan '08 by Scott

We’re not DJ’s really but we’re gonna play records in a ‘Dave Lee Travis kind of way’ at the Big Pink Cake in Bristol on Saturday February 16th.

Named after the excellent Razorcuts record, The Big Pink Cake is a bi-monthly club located underneath the Crown in St Nicks market, Bristol. It’s a perfect blend of sixties girl bands, twee pop and full-on shoegaze, with a sprinkle of anything in between. It’s the only club you’re ever likely to dance to Belle and Sebastian’s ‘Lazy, Line Painter Jane’ followed by ‘Never Understand’ by the JAMC.

Following in the footsteps of Gregory Webster (Razorcuts) and Clare Wadd (Sarah Records), Secret Shine (ie, Scott, Kathryn and Richy) have humbly accepted to spin some discs at the next event on February 16th.

Come along and join us, have a beer or glass of lemonade and dance the night away….

Doors open 10pm, £3 entry, cheap drinks
