Secret Shine are interviewed in the short takes section of issue 60 of Big Takeover magazine and they also review ‘Beyond Sea and Sky’.
We’re not going to publish extracts because you really should get yourself a copy of the magazine – it’s ace. While I’m dishing out a few thank you’s – cheers to those who turned up to our Louisiana show on June 7th. Along with our other two superb label mates ‘The Great Admirers’ and ‘Vincent Callan’ we pretty much packed the place out again. We played some new songs from the album but now we head back to the rehearsal room to practice the other album tracks. We have tons of stuff swimming around so I don’t know how we’ll arrive at 10 songs for the record. It’s exciting – we can’t wait to start recording.
And on that subject – we have scheduled in our recording for September with an early Jan 2008 release date. I’m not at liberty to divulge loads of info yet but we have an American label who want to release the record and we’re dead excited. It will also mean a more extensive tour of the States in 2008 (and other places too we hope!!)
A final note – the gifted Vincent Callan has recently released his debut album Stara Nova on the Shine label ‘Razorblade’. The record is produced by Jamie and features Kathryn and J on vocals.
