The single with the grey sleeve
It was with this line-up that we recorded our next single for Sarah, a 2-song double a-side 7 inch called Ephemeral (Sarah 61) featuring the songs, Honey Sweet and Secret Shine. It was getting heavier but still not exactly where we wanted to be. We recorded the single with Martin at the Whitehouse in Weston-Super-Mare again. It dawned on us that this was part of the problem. We needed to unleash the sound and with Martin it just wasn’t happening. No disrespect to the man – he was an exceptional sound man and engineered one of our favourite records ever – “Slowdive” by Slowdive.
After recording the Ephemeral songs Jamie and Scott returned to Bournemouth and recorded about 20 demo songs which would eventually become the “Untouched” album.
